The sports presenter Jason Mohammad is the BBC’s highest-earning Muslim for the third year running with an annual salary of between £285,000-£289,999, new figures have revealed.
This represents a pay cut of around £60,000 on what Mohammad was earning last year in line with a general decline in top BBC salaries.
During the last 12 months he has worked on the Daily BBC Wales programme and other BBC Wales TV output, Final Score, The Boat Race and Radio 2’s Good Morning Sunday
The Welshman was born and brought up in Cardiff to a Pakistani father and Welsh mother. He studied Welsh and politics at Swansea University and then attended Cardiff University for a postgraduate diploma in Broadcast Journalism.
In 2009 he presented a Welsh-language documentary about his Umrah pilgrimage to Makkah. In an interview with the Daily Post newspaper he said that he had always followed his faith.
Mishal Husain was the second highest-paid Muslim earning between £265,000-£265,999. In the last year she presented on Radio 4’s Today programme, BBC One and Radio 4’s From Our Home Correspondent.

Match of the Day host Gary Lineker was the top earner again with an annual salary of between £1,750,000-£1,754,999.
Radio DJ Zoe Ball was the second highest earner, taking home £1,360,000-£1,364,999.
